This is beautiful. "Love always hopes" has been my anthem this year, and there is much to love and hope for in this poem. (Also, brilliant idea to save those torn books for collage!)
Thank you, Abigail. I need to cling to โLove always hopesโ myself right now.
Yes, I couldnโt bear to throw away the books even though some of them were absolutely shredded ๐. Now Iโm glad to have them for these kind of projects.
A prayer - lovely. I donโt do anything as magnificent as walking the city saving pigeons. But I do fill garden bird feeders through winter. The birds flock to the garden. I get what I imagine is an Adamic pleasure from it. (Possibly that makes me seem insane. ๐)
Thank you, Thomas! No, not even a little bit insane ;) My husband has a bat house, a bee house, and bird house in our backyard, always hoping for more creatures to gather in our yard.
This chimes so beautifully with Kate Bluett's Advent bird poems.
That Gospel image of the Father who notices the fall of a sparrow, the plight of a pigeon!
The collage is brilliant. Now I wish I'd saved pages of ripped books to make collages. (Though I did once frame some of the pages of a damaged copy of Miss Rumphius. For a long time they decorated my daughters' bedroom walls.)
Thank you, Melanie ๐. Yes, I love the busy and bright chaos of her collage! I would frame Miss Rumphius tooโsuch amazing illustrations. Iโve saved old ripped up books, but also look for fun ones in little free libraries and tarnished thrift store copies :).
Ah thatโs amazing. Great article ๐ฆ
Thank you, B! It makes me so happy to know that people are out there thinking of the birds ๐.
