May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This is a re-rerun of my first post on Substack, chronicling one summer's deep plunge into our family's various diagnoses.
Have you ever looked at some of the people who are believed to have had ADHD? Included on that list are couple of guys name you may recognize: Da Vinci and Einstein. There are many more.
I am the only lefty in my family and my father tried to make me right handed. So i do some things right handed like eating. However, i often eat in continental European style —better and more efficient way to eat IMO— and hold the fork and knife as a lefty.
I’ve heard that about Einstein. It’s funny, the more I learn about neurodivergence, the more I feel like I recognize it in history and out in the “real world” (and also in myself, which honestly is kind of a relief; I feel like I understand a lot more of my life now).
Neurodivergence is just a name. A word, a classification scale.
IMO when something is given a name, a classification where many different types of people can be swept into the group with the name, any real understanding and attempts to understand stops.
I think that does happen sometimes (that attempts to understand stop), but I also feel like (from my perspective in the middle of it with my kids and myself) if you care, you seek to understand more and more, and develop more tenderness and wisdom about how different brains work.
Just wonderful, built in there is all the thanks for being able to get through it all together and still intact, to live to fight another day on the other side of exhaustion. thanks Silver

PS. There seems to be a connection to being left handed.
Interesting! We have only one lefty in our family—they seem so rare.

Le vrai soin est un fruit qui fleurit rarement
But bloom it does 🌼.
Great Mom, great Dad and great family !!!
Aw shucks, Susan 😊. We’re trying.
Thought provoking for sure and I so agree with your take on the "hot girl" which I will never be nor do I want to be.
Yeah, I could talk for a while about the phrases out there that become so normalized but are so divisive/exclusionary.
Gorgeous. ☀️💛
